How To Get Rid Of Muffin Top – What I Did
When I realized that I couldn’t get into my smaller jeans, and I didn’t like the way I looked in the mirror, I decided that I had suffered too much for too long. I went on a diet, not just any diet, but one that would help me to shed over 40 pounds in 4 months.
My diet was one of common sense, and healthy eating. Here is a simple outline of what I did to lose over 40 pounds, and how I really got rid of muffin top.
1. Stop drinking soda, and sugar filled drinks.
I stopped drinking sodas, and any sugar filled drinks. Sugar, and even diet sodas, were making my blood sugar rise, causing me to overeat. Instead, I drink water. I like carbonated water, and I add a few splashes of fresh lemon or lime juice. I drink at least 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses of water a day. I often drink more on the days that I workout.
2. Create a real diet for yourself, one that you will follow, and feel good about.
I began to create meals with at least one serving of fruit, one serving of vegetable, some lean protein, and a staple like steamed brown rice. Instead of eating foods that I craved when I was overweight like fried chicken, fries, and burgers, I turned to lean turkey, roasted chicken, and fresh fruits and vegetables. I would round out my meal with one serving of brown rice. Not only did I cut calories with these meals, I also increased my fiber intake, and started to feel stronger and healthier.
3. Eat more smaller meals.
I found myself eating more smaller meals. I would take a snack plate at least 4 to 5 times a day and filled it with fresh fruits, vegetables, some source of protein, and a little brown rice or quinoa. By eating healthy foods on a regular basis, I had more energy throughout the day, and I also avoided overeating due to hunger.
4. Eat breakfast each and every day.
I make a rule for myself to have breakfast each and every day. It is super important for me to start my day with some whole grains, so I generally reach for the raisin bran or Cheerios cereals with some low fat milk. This keeps me full, gives me energy, and helps me to start each day more alert and focused.
5. Exercise more, do some cardio workouts. (see muffin top exercises)
In order to really start losing weight, you have to exercise. I have a treadmill in my living room that I hop on at least 3 to 5 times a week. When I noticed that I have missed a few workouts, or if I find myself snacking, I will walk or jog 3 miles in the day, and 2 more miles at night. Ordinarily, I will walk or run 3 miles at least 3 to 5 times a week to stay at my ideal weight. This was my best secret for not only losing weight, but keeping it off since June of this year, and I feel and look younger too as a result.
How To Get Rid Of Muffin Top – My Story
For me, the realization that I had gained too much weight came after my son was
born. I put on 35 pounds, and I seemed destined to keep this weight on. I had a lot of responsibility as I had to work full time to support my family alone. I wanted to make more money and have more time with my son, and for a solid ten years this was not happening because I was struggling in a dead end job.
The frustrations added up, and so did my appetite for sweets, wine, and sorrow. I would start an exercise program one week, only to binge, sit around and sabotage my efforts the next. This went on for years, and I never seemed able to make any progress.
How to get rid of muffin top was not my only worry, my joints started to ache, my face stayed swollen, and I felt terrible every morning that I tried to get up and function.
